What is an eSIM?
eSIM (embedded SIM) is a virtual chip integrated into your phone. Instead of inserting a physical card, you activate it via QR code and get connected in minutes. It works like any carrier chip, but is completely digital.
Is my phone compatible with eSIM?
Yes, if it’s an iPhone XS or newer, or Samsung Galaxy S20+, Galaxy Z Fold/Flip, Pixel 3 XL or higher, among others. We have a complete page with the list and verification tutorial at /compatibilidade/. If you still have questions, contact us via WhatsApp and we’ll check in minutes.
How do I install the eSIM after purchase?
After confirming your payment, you will receive the QR code by email and in your dashboard at /minha-conta/. Just open Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM on iPhone (or Connections → SIM Manager on Android), scan the QR code, and follow the instructions. It takes 1-2 minutes.
When should I install the eSIM — before or during the trip?
Install **before traveling**, while you still have Wi-Fi at home. The installation works in any country and does not consume data from the plan. Just **activate mobile data** when you arrive at your destination — that’s when the plan starts counting.
Do I need Wi-Fi to install the eSIM?
Yes, only for the initial installation. You need an internet connection (Wi-Fi or data) to download the eSIM profile. Once installed, it works offline with the local network at your destination.
Will my Brazilian carrier chip continue to work?
Yes. Your phone will have two active chips simultaneously (dual SIM): your physical chip from Brazil to receive calls/SMS and WhatsApp, and the eSIM from Easy Chip for mobile data at your destination. You choose which one to use for each function.
Can I make and receive calls with the eSIM?
In plans marked as “Data + Voice + SMS,” yes. In most eSIMs (data only), you use voice apps: WhatsApp, FaceTime, Zoom, Telegram, and similar apps work perfectly with internet.
Can I use the same eSIM in more than one country?
It depends on the plan. We have **local** eSIMs (1 country), **regional** eSIMs (e.g., Europe with 39 countries), and **global** eSIMs (100+ countries). Check the plan description before purchasing — coverage is always listed.
What happens when the plan runs out?
When the data runs out or the period expires, the eSIM stops working. You can **reload** directly in your dashboard at /minha-conta/ → eSIMs → Reload, choose a new package (same country), and stay connected without needing to install anything new.
Can I reload the eSIM?
Yes! In your Easy Chip account, you can reload the eSIM in seconds — use a saved card or PIX. The profile remains on your phone; only the balance/validity increases.
How does the refund process work?
Full refund within 7 days if the eSIM **has not been installed/activated yet**. Once activated, it cannot be refunded (the service has already started through the partner carrier). Complete details at /politica-de-reembolso-e-devolucao/.
How long does the installation QR code last?
The QR code is unique and permanent while the eSIM is not installed. Once installed on a phone, it cannot be used on another device — each purchase is valid for one device only.
Are my personal data shared?
We do not sell data. We only share what is necessary with the partner carrier (to issue the eSIM), payment gateways (Stripe, PayPal, MercadoPayment), and analytics services (with your consent via cookie banner). Details at /politica-de-privacidade/.
What if I have problems at the destination?
Our support responds via WhatsApp during business hours (9 AM – 6 PM Mon-Fri) and by email 24/7. If it’s a real technical problem with the eSIM (defect, not connecting after correct installation), we will send a new one or fully refund you even after activation.
What is the difference between Easy Chip’s eSIM and my carrier’s roaming?
The eSIM is **much cheaper** (plans starting at $4), has stable 4G/5G speeds (not limited like roaming often is), you choose exactly what you need (1 GB for 7 days, unlimited for 30 days, etc.), and you pay upfront — no surprises on the bill.
